Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid was born in Vietnam and has Chinese origins, however her father Winston Barrett Munn comes from a Southern family. Olivia was just two years old when her parents separated. Her family consisted of her stepfather as well as her mother who was also a United States Air Force member. The family emigrated to Oklahoma, and lived in different locations, however she lived the majority of her life in Tokyo. During that time she took part in numerous local productions of theater as well as becoming a Japanese Fashion Model. Olivia left her home in the United States back to Los Angeles and pursued her dreams of being an actor. After a few small roles in her professional career, she took another promising step when she was offered the character in the role of Mily Acuna in the Hawaii-focused TV series Beyond the Break (2006) as well as the part as Rob Schneider's receptionist on Big Stan (2007).
