Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native, birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as as seen through flashback) Her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she turned an adult, for fear of the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry states that she did not want to be an actor in high school but decided to take up acting as a social activity during her time at Northwestern University when she switched to the university from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry relocated in New York to search for television work landing small roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought her back to California which is where she discovered theater jobs. Perry was a part of Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In 2015, she starred together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, Perry had a role on ABC's political thriller Scandal alongside her father. Also, she was cast on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. She got the part by auditioning for an open role despite being a fan of this persona.
